Kane def Rocky in 4 games.
3-11, 11-5, 12-10, 11-5. Rocky Carson manages to do something nobody has been able to accomplish for 15 months. Take a game from Kane. Rocky came out strong for Game 1 and hit some lighting bolt drive serves to Kane's backhand which were very effective. Rocky takes Game 1 decisively 11-3. Kane, wearing his yellow jersey that is exclusively reserved for Finals appearances, comes out for Game 2 like an awakened sleeping giant and evens the match at 1-1 with a 11-5 win. Kane took an injury time-out at 8-8 in Game 3. He twisted his knee and he was limping pretty bad. He was obviously in a lot of pain as he tried to "walk it off" in the back of the club. I had my doubts that he could be competitive. He sure proved me wrong! He comes back from the injury time-out with a bad wheel and still beats Rocky in game 3 and then gets back in the groove for a decisive Game 4 win for the match. Amazing! Congratulations to Kane. The streak is in tact and the dominance continues.

Yes, it was truly amazing how Kane managed to play and win the match after his injury time out.
Also, did you notice that when play resumed after Kane's injury time-out, Rocky slipped and was lying face down on the court and Kane immediately ran over to Rocky to see if he was alright and to help him up? Even though play can be very aggressive and intense I notice that Kane always displays sportsmanlike conduct to his opponents.

Most of the IRT pro's are friends and have mutual respect for one another. It is a very small "club" after all.
The courts this weekend were very wet and the the floors were slippery due to the big storm that passed trough the Sarasota area Thursday & Friday. The surface of the courts were in very poor condition and this just added to the problem. I know a lot of players were slipping and sliding and injuries were a concern. I played a doubles match and I felt like I was being served nothing but spit balls it was so bad. They did try to make the courts better by buying a bunch of dehumidifiers and I was told that they did make a difference by Saturday afternoon when the weather cleared. I asked Kane how he was doing after his match and he said that his knee was sore and he was tired, but he was OK. This was encouraging to hear. With the IRTNetwork T1 ProAm in St. Louis being just a couple weeks away Kane should be well rested and ready to continue his winning streak and dominance of the Tour.

Thanks Sideout for the follow-up ... hopefully Kane's knee will be completely healed in time for the IRT Network T1 ProAm in St. Louis ... I heard that they will be playing on a three walled glass court. I hope the playing conditions will be good. Besides an increased risk of injury, playing on a wet court is like rolling the dice and will effect the way the ball performs. A "true" court will not hinder a player and the "best" player for that match will win based on skill level.

I stated before that so long as Kane stays healthy and doesn't suffer an injury he will go undefeated.
I stand corrected. Kane can beat the best even when he's playing on a bum leg.

Marty, I don't know what you mean. He lost a game. He sucks.
